TALENT- MORE INFO

Frequently Asked Questions

  • When a user visits the platform, they can either choose an AI voice option or a human talent option for their scripts. When they visit the human talent option on the website, the user scrolls through the voice talent to find what they are looking for. They base their decisions on your demos, there are no auditions.

When they choose a talent, they input their script which calculates the length, then pay the fee. The customer then inputs any notes to send with the script and off it goes.

  • We wish we could promise you a steady stream of jobs, but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee it. Various factors are at play, such as seasonal fluctuations and market demand. However, please know that our marketing team is always working hard to promote Voice Dragons and get your voice heard by as many people as possible.

    REVISIONS:

Pays .48 cents per word, with a minimum of $70 after the first included revision.

  • Payments from jobs are transferred to your bank account once the client approves jobs. (2-5 days)

  • Currently, we have a 24-hour turnaround time to the client. So once the job hits your inbox, you have 24 hours to get the finished voice file back into the system. If you miss the deadline, we will hunt you down and take your firstborn. Okay, not really, but it can affect your standing in Voice Dragons which basically means if you were consistently late, you could be asked to leave the site.

We understand that lengthy scripts may require more time. Please contact support to request an extended deadline. We also notify users that processing lengthy scripts might take longer.

  • The client's job order includes one revision. With short scripts, we suggest doing at least three reads but making them truly different. For long scripts, it’s a super good idea to send the client a sample read but read only a portion of the script. If they didn't provide enough direction to proceed with the initial order, it helps to ask a question about style or pronunciation. If the client wants more than one revision, the additional requests are chargeable.

  • Yes, but on the platform. The client may try to connect with you outside the site, not to sidestep the process but just to have direct contact. Always use direct messaging through the site so there is a consistent and easy-to-track thread of discussions.

  • If the client contacts you outside the website, shoot us an email and we will ask them to send messages only through the site. If you begin to interact with them outside the site, there is no consistent record of the conversations, and we can’t protect you from requests that are not part of the service Voice Dragons provides.

  • You'll need to upload a WAV and MP3 of the approved voice job. For short scripts, we strongly recommend doing three different reads.

  • In rare cases, the job just falls apart, and for whatever reason, the client rejects the revision. In that case, they have the option of paying for a new version or closing the job. If they outright reject the voiceover, you will be compensated $50 for your time. We know it's not much, but it's a rare occurrence and if it happens, we also face a loss for refunding the client.

  • Yes, if a script has content you feel strongly about, or you have a license with another client that conflicts, you can check a box that says you are turning down the job.

  • In the talent portal, check the box at the bottom stating that you're currently unavailable. Just remember to uncheck it again. You'll be sent reminders every three days asking if you want to remain unavailable.

  • Of course! Feel free to join other sites and, by all means, get as much work as you can! We want you to be successful!

  • AI technology is now part of our world and we feel it's better to embrace it than run from it. Our strategy for integrating both is to draw clients in, giving them the option to fulfill their needs best. A big bonus to doing this is promoting the platform using AI voice in the SEO. And even though that may be the initial door they enter, they may discover that real talent is better suited for their job.

  • No. Users cannot use your voice and add it to the Al avatars on this platform. The terms and FAQ state that purchasing a voice on this site and using it in Al is strictly prohibited.

  • Add just their first name and last initial. Set up a new profile for your child but use your email.

If you are also on the site you can use your email for yourself. For your child’s email use your email but add a + sign in the address for your child, like this todd+sara@voicedragons.com. Sara is my daughter.

In email address’s, anything after a + sign is ignored. This way the email will come to you but you know it’s your child’s job.

  • Only your name and demos will be visible to the public.

  • You can upload wav or mp3 files.

  • You can only use a style label once. So, if you have several demos of one style, you'll have to edit them together into one file. This is to keep the UI clean, but this could change in future upgrades.

  • We are not going to have talent profile photos. We want users to focus only on the voice and not be distracted by how a talent looks.

  • Demos will be in alphabetical order, with commercial demos first. So, rearranging them in your profile isn't necessary.

  • Yes, you can create an alias when you initially sign up, or you can add it under —profile—edit profile.

  • We use Stripe for the payment gateway. It’s a very large well well-respected company, and finance is their thing. If you have a legal business name that is registered you should use that with the EIN number.

VERY IMPORTANT: if you don’t have a legal business name, you must enter your personal name with your social security number. Those two things need to align for the Stripe account to approve you.

  • If you see the word "restricted", it just means your account is being verified or you need to add additional info.

If you already have a Stripe account, this onboarding process is specifically designed for Voice Dragons so that shouldn't be a problem. If you have multiple accounts, you can easily switch between them in the top left corner of the dashboard.

It is important that that you use the legal business name that is tied to the EIN number.

If you're operating as a sole proprietorship, you may use your personal SSN for your business. In this case, you would still enter your legal name, not your business name, when providing the SSN. Remember, any discrepancies in name formatting, including spaces, hyphens, or other punctuation, can result in verification errors.
